UFT FW2 – fully on track
From Graz to Klagenfurt in just 45 minutes - that's how fast it should go once the Koralm-bahn is ready.
Construction work on the last major section of the route between Feldkirchen and Weitendorf began in September 2020, and the first trains should then run in 2025. Part of the 13 km long new line is the “airport branch” FW2. This includes an approximately 3.2 km long underground route, which is currently being built using the cut-and-cover method. The construction project also includes tub sections up to 12 m high.
The static calculations and implementation plans are created together with the civil engineering office Eisner from Graz.
The Lavanttal train station is already under construction, and construction lot 7.3 will start soon at West Styria train station. The structural planning for these two projects also comes from Thomas Lorenz.
