Old becomes new
The existing historic building (Gründerzeithaus) at Gusshausstraße 3 in Vienna, located in close proximity to Schwarzenbergplatz, underwent extensive renovation. The building was completely gutted, an underground car park was integrated, and an attic conversion was carried out. All works were carried out in full compliance
with the City of Vienna’s stringent regulations
Brick, Steel & Concrete
To withstand the new loads, the existing masonry had to be extensively reinforced/grouted. To create space for parking in the basement, the building had to be shored up with beams and replaced. The entire basement was constructed using reinforced concrete, while the attic conversion was built with steel.
