Med Campus I
In 2015, Kepler University Hospital launched an open EU-wide competition for general planning services for the construction of a new campus building at the Johannes Kepler University in Linz. A total of four structurally separate functional areas consisting of administration, teaching and research, a laboratory and a library are currently being built on the site of the JKU Faculty of Medicine.
Green field?
The entire construction area is already covered with a 2-storey underground car park. The particular structural challenge was the superstructure of this and the passage of the load.
The floor slab had to be reinforced in parts with HDBV and additional load-bearing elements had to be inserted in the garage.
