Ice Q Sölden

SPECTREcular

The imposing glass cube stands at an altitude of over 3,000 m in the winter paradise of Sölden (Tyrol). At the end of 2013, the mountain top restaurant Ice Q was opened on the Gaislochkogel, and in 2015 the property was the filming location for the James Bond film Spectre.

00TLo
Thomas Lorenz ZT GmbH was responsible for the static dimensioning of the glass facade, the detailed planning of the steel skeleton and the dimensioning of the access bridges. The cube has projections on three sides, one of which, at 8 m, is almost as long as the width of the building itself. A covered steel bridge leads from the top station directly to the entrance of the restaurant, another one from the roof terrace to the summit cross.
